For this assignment, you will conduct research and construct an argument that pertains to an
ethical issue in your chosen career field. Ethics is the study of what is right and what is wrong, so
consider the controversial elements or issues in your chosen profession and work to craft an
argument that addresses your position on the topic.
You do not have to re
-invent the wheel with this assignment, and I am not expecting you to
know everything about the controversies of your career field. The Internet can be a great
resource for giving you preliminary ideas and guidance about some of the topics you could
choose for the essay. It is when research and bring together all of your sources that the original
writing will emerge.
Your essay should contain a minimum of four high
This assignment is to create a research

In the Week 5 module, I have included a document that gives examples of each type of these
arguments. Please note that not all of the examples given are necessarily ethical arguments. A
question of right and wrong should be at the heart of your essay.
As you draft, follow the strategi

arguments in general (Ch. 7), as well as the
chapter on documenting sources (Ch. 22)
