FINDING ASSIMILATION SOURCES
Your first essay will be an Argumentative Essay on Assimilation. By the time you will have started writing the essay, you will have searched for works and possible other forms of information (videos, personal experience, scholarly work, etc.) on the subject of Assimilation. An Argumentative essay focuses on a more factual and analytical foundation to make your case for your opinion.
However, this fact doesn’t mean you can’t use all of your sources, even some with a more personal focus. This initial assignment deals with what you will find as sources.
Please find at least 4 sources dealing with the topic of Assimilation as the absorption and integration of people, ideas, or culture into a wider society or culture. Create a ‘Works Cited’ page as if you will be using these sources for your essay.
This is the beginning of the process–finding your sources. In reality, you will not have to use these exact sources if you find out later, they do not fit your needs. The completion of this exercise is a way to show me that you know how to create citations.
