write a peer review, below is the classmate’s writing. Her question is Does corruption always involve only money? If not, what else may be involved?

The book defines Corruption as “often defined as the abuse of public power for private benefits, usually in the form of bribery.”

Corruption can occur in both the public and private sectors. It involved companies, political government parties, and any type of organization. People are corrupt when they abuse the power, they have not only with money but to get their way or their benefits by taking advantage of people’s lives, their trust, their rights, gender, etc.

People’s lives: when people abuse the power, they have such as having high prices for health care where people are not able to afford it. One great example is the cost of insulin. Producers of insulin have abused the price of it where some people need it in order to have a good quality of life but producers are thinking of profits they will make with the cost of it.
People’s trust: Some countries have lost people’s trust when it comes to elections. When people see how an election is being sabotaged and there is corruption in the counting of the votes some citizens lose faith in the bigger authorities to be truthful of the results. This pushes some citizens to not participate in elections, pay taxes, or participate in these decisions since they have no trust in the government.

Human rights are violated by the parties involve bribing the judges to win their case.

Corruption can influence many people not only with the exchange of money but as we see in the examples it can abuse with the health of people’s lives, their rights, and the trust and confidence they won’t have in the bigger authorities.
