Critique one text we have worked with in class as a use of rhetoric for resistance. What is the rhetorical situation for this text? How is the text related to feminist concepts and concerns we have talked about in class? How does the text resist an imposition of power, i.e. what strategies are evident in the text? How well does the text function as a rhetoric of resistance? Is there anything you think the rhetor could have done differently in order to be more effective? Work closely with the Rhetorical Analysis and Criticism handout. Write 5-6 pages. Use specific references to and quotations from the text to support your statements. Your critique should focus on the text itself, so no outside research is required. However you may use sources for the feminist concepts and concerns, or for limited information about context. If you do, be sure to cite references, using a formal documentation style, e.g. MLA or APA. Also, include a References/Works Cited page at the end.
(I’ve included pictures of the reading that I’ve chose. It’s about the Seneca Falls Convention. Everything you need to know should be in the handouts attached.)
