I NEED SOMEONE WHO IS CREATIVE. IMAGERY< COMPLEX CHARACTER DYNAMIC < AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON FOR HIM/HER TO TALK TO < SETTING…ETC

Very straight forward. Not many boundaries. You need to create a scene in which you are introducing a character that is an ongoing development. Foreshadow the tension of the story and what they are missing from their life. Make sure to touch on each sense for imagery.

The character should be open ended. This is just a snapshot from his/her life not the whole thing.

Your scene should include the following:

· One main, fully realized character displaying presence and attitude

· A scene or situation for the character to react or respond to

· One or two other people for the main character to speak to

· Attached to the story, include what David Corbett describes as the character’s “yearning image”. Corbett explains, “The yearning is [in contrastto] the way of life and type of person that defines the character’s current circumstances. You’re looking for what is [absent] from the character’s life, not a theme song or portrait of who he considers himself to be.” If your character has a tumultuous, crazy life, her image may be of a calm night sky. If your character is depressed by his routine, his image may be of an exotic, foreign locale.

After you have written your scene, write a one paragraph reflection of the specific choices you made to enhance the images and characters in your scene. Be sure to reference the Google slides related to this topic and explain why you focused on those particular aspects of image and character.
