Polar bear

Annotated bibliography outlining the key journal articles that will inform your final paper. In this submission, you will present a summary (in your own words) and proper reference for ten (10) peer-reviewed journal articles. Only peer-reviewed articles will be accepted for this part of the assignment. Your summary will identify the main findings of each article and briefly discuss how you intend to use each article in your final submission. The annotated bibliography should not exceed 10 pages double-spaced, times new roman font size 12 with regular margins. *Please note: copying text from the article or abstract is a violation of academic integrity and will result in a zero grade*

For the annotated bibliography as well as the final submission, all students will use the same scientific referencing format. Everyone must follow the referencing guidelines outlines by the Arctic Institute of North America. A detailed referencing guide can be found at: http://arctic.ucalgary.ca/guide-authors, and example citations are given at the end of this instruction sheet. Please consult with your TA if you have questions.

Example 2:

Proper referencing format:

The final paper – For the final submission, you will submit a 10-12 page paper outlining the conservation context, issues, research, and implications for their particular species. You are allowed to incorporate figures from the literature, but if you do, you must interpret and apply the figures to your paper. Your paper should address the following topics (% allocated to your paper’s mark is given in parentheses):

1) Introductory remarks – What is the current status of your particular species in Canada? (How many are there? Where are they found? What is their conservation designation in Canada? What is the global perspective?) (10%)

2) What are the main threats/drivers contributing to this species being classified (or at risk of being classified) as a species at risk? How do these threats/drivers impact your species specifically? Draw on (and cite!) published research findings and describe how those findings relate to the conservation status of the species. (30%)

3) What are the main social implications of conservation of your particular species? i.e. How are people going to be impacted by conservation measures implemented for your species or from a loss of your species? Cite specific evidence from the literature; don’t just give general sentiments or assumptions. (30%)

4) Concluding remarks – What is the conservation outlook or projection for your species? (10%)

5) Use and interpretation of data/figures from the literature (10%)

6) Proper formatting of references; spelling and grammar (10%)

If the annotated bibliography comes back as a good grade, I will hire for the final.

My GPA is 8.6. Please keep that in mind, and structure a high quality annotated.
