In this assignment, you will summarize information gathered via an audience survey (below) and explain how you intend to use the information in developing your Problem, Solution, and Barriers Paper as well as your Persuasive Speech.
The survey was created by previous students who were researching topics similar to yours. Find your groups topic below, and use the corresponding survey(s). The responses were given by othe students. Because of the complexity of writing and distributing a survey in an online course, you will rely on the survey results provided to you. Even if the topic is not exactly the same, you should gain helpful information about an audience of college students.
Guidelines
Using the survey provided to your group, summarize the information and explain how you intend to use the information to develop your speech. You do not need to include results for every survey item; rather, you should focus on 5-6 items that directly relate to your speech.
1. Interpret the Survey Results (Online Discussion Posts)
* Section 1 (2-3 paragraphs)
* In 250-300 words, describe what meaning you interpret from the 4-6 survey items you selected. What did you learn about an audience of college students?
* When you refer to an item/question from the survey, use “Q” rather than “question.” For example, question 2 would be Q2.
* Section 2 (2-4 paragraphs)
* In 300-350 words, interpret your results in relation to social judgement theory you have learned about in class. Make sure you understand the difference between a theory/model and other course concepts. (Other concept include cognitive dissonance, elaboration likelihood)
* Discuss every component of that theory/model. Clearly demonstrate that you know how to apply the theory/model to your message based on the survey results.
