Essays should be between 500-1,000 words. The exception to this rule is the research paper, which should be 1,500-2,000 worEssays test your reading comprehension as well as your ability to articulate ideas in a clear and concise manner. Below is the first essay assignment. Read the instructions carefully, and please see the section “Formatting and Submission Rules” to learn how you should format and submit your essay. (The reading is provided below. You are not required to incorporate any outside sources in your essay, and you are not required to include a Works Cited page, either.)ds.
Essays should use 12 pt. Times New Roman font (or another basic and easy-to-read font such as Arial).
Essays should be double-spaced.
The formal heading should be included at the top left-hand side of the page.
The essay should have a title. The title should be included below the formal heading, and it should be centered. It should not be in all caps, a different font, or different font size. Similarly, the title should not be in quotations, italicized text, bold text, or underlined.
The text of the essay should be left-aligned. Do not right-align, center, or justify the essay text.
You should use the Tab key to indent each new paragraph.
You should underline the thesis statement or major proposition of your essay.
