Great expectations
In this paper, you will be answering reflective questions influenced by your reading of Great Expectations. First, what significance does the novel’s title have for the story? Next, Pip clearly has dreams of an ideal life; what kind of life have you always wanted to experience? Finally, is the life you have wanted to experience different from your current one? How so? Do you believe you can live your ideal life if you are not currently?
Approach this paper carefully. You may be tempted to simply write a treatise on your life but remember to stay focused and relate your experiences to the text. This will be especially important in questions one and two. Your answers to these questions will need to reference evidence from the text. What part of the text explains the significance of the title? Which parts of the text show what Pip dreams of experiencing? Let the text guide your responses.
