philosophy
This is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to me and to reflect on some philosophical topics.
Address all of the following:
Describe your background in philosophy, if any.
Describe what you hope to get out of this class.
Describe some – but not necessarily all – of your beliefs and your approach to life, by answering some of the following:
What if anything gives meaning to your life, and why?
How do you determine what you value in life?
How do you determine what you hold to be true?
Do you think you have any ethical responsibilities and if so to whom or what?
Describe as best you can the sources of these beliefs.
Describe your long-term goals: how do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
Try to answer the questions in an organized way. You can answer them in the order asked, though you don’t need to. But try to make sure that each paragraph has a clear point.
Format
The top of the document must include:
Your name
The class name
The date
The word count
This information can go either in the header or on the top left or right before the prose begins.
Use a standard easily readable font such as Times New Roman 12 pt.
