Standard 1-inch margins, 12pt. Times-New Roman, Double-spaced
Standard heading (name, class, section, in header only)
Have a unique title reflecting the paper’s thesis (no title pages)
Minimum citations: two sources from course readings and at least three outside peer-reviewed sources (journal articles, government reports, books, etc.)
Use IEEE citation method (citations/bibliography do not count toward 5-page minimum)
5-page minimum/6-page maximum (do not exceed 6pp.)
Also, proof-read and edit because spelling and grammar count toward the final grade. ESL students are strongly encouraged to make appointments at the Writing Center early on to help revise their final drafts before uploading to Canvas.

As a biomedical engineer who specializes in “Professional Ethics Compliance” at a large biotech firm, you are asked to provide a short paper to your colleagues at a training session that reviews the significant ethical issues concerning the development and distribution of a new vaccine for COVID-19. Using the current coronavirus pandemic as a case study, you will utilize ONE ethical theory as a framework for your evaluation and recommendations for how the production and distribution of a vaccination campaign should conform to ethical standards practiced by the scientific community. The ethical issues relating to this case study will include analysis of the following:
Safety protocols for the development and testing of vaccines
Informed consent for patients about the benefits and risks of vaccination
The equitable distribution of vaccines based on risk and need
The question of requiring vaccination by law, given the scope of the pandemic
With as much detail as possible, develop a structured thesis and sub-arguments in three to five paragraphs that addresses these ethical issues (see Sample Thesis Handout on Canvas). Newspapers and media sources do not count toward minimum citation requirements, but may still be used. Only use short direct citations from the texts when they provide useful evidence for support; no block quotes.
