You will access and read the article: Revisiting Active-Shooter Protocols for Schools, by Buerger, M & G; published in the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin vol. 79, # 09, September 2010, page 01.
This Writing Project # 01, (approximately 750 words reviewing the article) will be attached to the drop box in Word format. It must follow the format of the Hunter College Reading / Writing Center instructions for “Writing the Critique.” There will be a title page and reference page included.

The draft of your critique / review must be submitted to Smarthinking or the Monroe College Success Center Tutor for review. The tutor’s response” must be submitted to the associated assignment drop box.

To critique a piece of writing is to do the following:
1) describe: give the reader a sense of the writer’s overall purpose and meaning
2) analyze: show how it is put together by dividing it into its main sections or aspects
3) interpret: define the significance (meaning and importance) of each part
4) assess: make a judgment of the work’s worth or value
