What ideology from Western Civilization was/is the most influential on society?
Of the five major ideologies covered in Western Civilization—Fascism, Communism, Socialism, Capitalism, Imperialism/Colonialism—which one had, and continues to have, the most impact on global society? You must choose one of these ideologies and explain its historical context, why it was significant historically (i.e. during the time period of its creation), and why it persists to be significant in today’s modern, global society.

Using the above prompt as a guide, write an essay of at least 1000 words, but try to refrain from going over 4 pages in length. You can rely exclusively on the course material for your position and reasoning, but you may also include outside resources if you wish (you are not required to use outside sources, but it may help in relating the topic to present-day events). If you choose to use outside sources to back up your choice, you must use the Chicago Style of citation.
