Using Muniz (2010) as an example of a researcher who came after the life

The exam will include two short answer essays (50 points each), 500 words per essay (not including the Works Cited section at the end of each essay).
Submit your work in Canvas as a MS Word document. If you do not, your Exam will be considered late and graded at a later time.
Save all essays in one MS Word document.
Put your name in the file name before you upload your document. For example, ANTH116W_FinalExam_MorghanVelez. If you do not put your name in the file name of the document, your Exam will be considered late and graded at a later time.
Late exams lose 20% each day late, but must be submitted in order to meet the University requirement for writing courses.

Your essays must mirror following expectations:

In your introduction, did you tell readers exactly what they can expect from your paper? (refer to the ppt on How to write a research essay)
Did you answer the question by presenting two or more supporting points?
Did you give concrete/detailed examples of each supporting point? “For example, ____.”
Did you use in-text citations in AAA format? (e.g. Last Name YEAR; Vélez 2017)
Did you include a Works Cited section in AAA format, including citations for any videos? (This is not part of the 500 word standard for each essay.)
Did you meet the word standard per essay?
Did you “spoon feed” all of your ideas to your reader? (Do not make your readers work hard to connect your ideas for you.)
Did you score your own work with the grading rubric and reflect on how you can improve your essay?
Did you limit your use of quotes to one line per page? Did you introduce and follow-up after presenting a quote?
Did you score your own writing using the grading rubric?

Question 1.

Using Muniz (2010) as an example of a researcher who came after the lifespan of Dr. Gimbutas (Foster and Derlet 2013), explain what we learn from Muniz (2010) about the continuation of indigenous European religions in contemporary times.

1.) Explain at least three things that we gain from the Muniz reading about indigenous European religions and then

2.) compare the Muniz reading to the work of Dr. Gimbutas in Foster and Derlet’s (2013) book. That is, what from the Foster and Derlet book also shows-up in the data provided by Muniz (2010)? Spend equal attention in your essay writing about both things. Be specific and use specific examples.

Question 2.

Describe the factors involved in the ending of the witch craze by using the book by Barstow (1995). Explain the who, what, where, and when to this closing of public torture and murder in the name of religion. Make sure to compare these factors to the factors that are part of the heights of the witch craze (i.e. the middle years of the witch craze). Keep in mind the following questions:

1.) “Who” was target by the witch craze at the height of the witch craze versus who was target at the ending phase of the witch craze? What is interesting about this difference?

2.) What was going on with religion and politics in different regions of Western Europe that changed from the height of the craze versus the end of the craze? 3.) What economic and/or social factors were going on in Western Europe that changed from the height of the craze versus end of the craze? Be specific and use specific examples.
